Short of Able has been a staple of the Edmonton music for years, releasing its debut album Far Away and Out of Sight in 2011. The local success of this release allowed the band to tour throughout Western Canada, with stops in Toronto. The band's follow-up sophomore album titled 'The Last One's Gone' was released in 2012, leading to an Edmonton Music Award nomination for Best Rock Recording and was one of the top 10 albums of 2012 at GigCity.ca. The alternative country styled track "Last Call" was chosen for a Lite 95.7 Emerging Artist award netting the band a $10,000.00 recording grant, and continued airplay and radio promotion in Edmonton.
